GENERAL CONTRAINDICATIONS AS TO REFERRAL OF PATIENTS (ADULTS) TO SANATORIUM-AND-SPA TREATMENT (Order of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine from 16.05.1983 No. 580)
1. All the diseases in the inflammatory stage, chronic diseases in the exacerbation stage and complicated acute purulent processes.
2. Acute infectious diseases until the completion of quarantine period.
3. All the venereal diseases in acute or contagious stage.
4. Mental diseases. All the forms of drug addiction and chronic alcoholism. Epilepsy.
5. All the blood diseases in the inflammatory stage and exacerbation stage.
6. Cachexia of any origin.
7. Malignant neoplasms.
8. All the diseases and states, that require inpatient treatment, including operative intervention; all the diseases, when patients are not capable of independent movement and self-service and need constant special care (except for persons, who are under treatment in specialized sanatoriums for spinal patients).
9. Echinococcus of any localization.
10. Bleedings, which are often repeated, or with great loss of blood.
11. Pregnancy in all the terms to balneology and mud health resorts, and to the climatic health resorts – beginning with the 26th week (except for the specialized departments for expectant mothers).
Besides, in all the terms of pregnancy, pregnant women should not be referred to the resorts and sanatoriums:
• for balneomud treatment concerning gynaecological disorders;
• for treatment of extragenital diseases with radon baths;
• of persons, who live on the plains, to mountain resorts, located at a height of more than 1000 m above sea level.
12. All the forms of tuberculosis in active stage to any resorts and sanatoriums of non nontuberculous profile.
