From the bottom of my heart I congratulate the organizing committee, the research and creative team of the nation-wide social project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine”!
 
The sanatorium-and-spa treatment is an integral part of qualifiedhealth care for the population of Ukraine. At the resorts of Ukraine traditionally there is the medical rehabilitation of almost all the vitally important organs and systems of human and natural therapeutic resources of Ukraine take one of the leading places in Europe.
 
Sanatorium-and-spa institutions of Ukraine have two major functions that affect the level of public health: a purposeful organization of the resort treatment and health improvement of people with the introduction of preventive measures and medical rehabilitation of persons who have suffered various diseases, for their fast return to labor activity.
 
The latest scientific and practical informational resource “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine” has to attract the attention of all the public and private structures that are relevant to the public health system, to enhance the role of the sanatorium-and-spa treatment and medical rehabilitation of patients at the sanatorium stage of treatment to preserve the gene pool of the nation.
 
I am confident that the initiated case will in the best way promote the preservation, development and efficiency increase of the important national social health domain – sanatorium-and-spa branch of the state.
 
Doing justice to all those who are involved in this complicated but important and necessary business, I wish the successful implementation of creative plans and ideas.

DEAR UKRAINIANS AND GUESTS OF SINCERE UKRAINE!

I sincerely congratulate the participants, organizers and users of a nationwide information and presentation project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine”. Today Ukraine has a real prospect of recovery of both domestic and inbound medical tourism with the use of health improving and recreational areas of resorts, and restorative natural medicinal resources.
 
Ukraine has the potential possibility to improve health of approximately 50 million people annually. And the discovered hydromineral resources of the country that include more than 200 deposits of medicinal mineral waters and 80 deposits of therapeutic muds, can almost indefinitely meet the needs of the sanatorium-and-spa treatment for more than 15 million holiday-makers annually.
 
Taking into consideration the fact that the sanatorium-and-spa treatment and rest is one of the most important ways to improve nation’s health, the multi-functional reference system “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine” will find not only a broad introduction of sanatorium-and-spa industry, but may be used as the main source of information for its presentation among all the strata of society in Ukraine and abroad.
 
Thanks to the project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine”, the world will know about those whose initiatives, energy, creativity and experience provide the development of sanatorium-and-spa industry of Ukraine. We believe that this publication will contribute to the expansion business contacts and Ukraine’s joining to the international community.

I congratulate everybody on the effective stage of realization of social nation-wide information and presentation project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine”.
 
The economic growth of our Motherland is unthinkable without the improvement of health of the citizens of Ukraine and effective recovery of labor potential of our people. The latest comprehensive, consolidated database of health potential of sanatorium-and-spa facilities of Ukraine serve this noble cause.
It is pleasant for us that our plan was actively supported by people of new way of thinking - those who want health-improving potential of Ukraine to be widely known in the world.
 
We sincerely thank all those who, being aware of importance of the conceived project, assisted us in its implementation. Fruitful cooperation with ministries, state committees and agencies, scientists of the leading domestic research and medical training institutions, experts in sanatorium-and-spa industry, trade unions, employers and many other structures, became a reliable guarantee of success of this project today and in the future.
 
For the first time in our country there was established a comprehensive mechanism for provision with the reliable information of a wide range of specialists of medical institutions, citizens of Ukraine and abroad for more qualitative health-improving of people, accelerating the development of sanatorium-and-spa industry and the increase in service of recovery and rehabilitation of citizens.
 
This project is the most advanced form of presentation of information with the innovative development and effective marketing program for the formation of effective competitiveness of domestic sanatorium-and-spa facilities and the industry in general.

Social nation-wide information-presentation project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine” is the newest modern comprehensive consolidated database on the health potential of sanatorium-and-spa institutions of Ukraine. 

For the first time in Ukraine, there was created a complex mechanism for ensuring the reliable information of more than 14 000 000 of consumers of sanatorium-and-spa services (insured persons in the Social Insurance Fund on Temporary Disability) and members of their families, more than 1 116 790 of the insured (enterprises, institutions, organizations, private entrepreneurs of Ukraine) and about 30 000 of specialists of medical institutions with a purpose of more qualitative health improvement of the Ukrainian population, acceleration of the development of sanatorium-and-spa branch and the increase of the services provision for health improvement and rehabilitation in sanatorium-and-spa institutions of citizens of Ukraine and abroad.

PROJECT GOALS:

  • Presentation of the sanatorium-and-spa industry of Ukraine, disclosure of its health potential;
  • Providing with the qualitative comprehensive consolidated information on the potential and specific character of health-improving resources of the health resorts and sanatoriums of Ukraine to all the interested parties;
  • Integration of all the leading sanatoriums of Ukraine.

Social nation-wide information-presentation project “Resorts and Sanatoriums of Ukraine”

  • For the first time, within the bounds of the project realization all the leading experts, scientists and figures of the sanatorium-spa-industry were teamed: the project is implemented with the participation of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology, All-Ukrainian Association of Physiotherapists and Balneologists, honoured physicians, scholars, specialists in medical rehabilitation, government officials etc.
  • The project is arranged on the basis of the scientific approach:
    • the leading scientists of Ukraine developed a specialized questionnaire, which allowed to get the comprehensive information on the health potential of sanatorium-and-spa institutions,
    • for the first time the international system of classification of diseases was introduced,
    • the potential and uniqueness of natural therapeutic factors, available in Ukraine, was disclosed in full,
    • the information on methods of sanatorium-and-spa treatment is provided.
  • The project was implemented in several languages and various information carriers.
  • For the first time, an interactive multicriterion retrieval system of the SSI was created. It allows to use a handbook not only for medical specialists, but also for direct consumers of the sanatorium-and-spa services (citizens of Ukraine and abroad), specialists of the Social Insurance Fund on Temporary Disability, consultants of travel agencies and other interested parties.
